I think a better question would’ve been… is Golden Dawn worth 6 pages of a thread?

ALCO Public Opinion Poll - New Democracy In The Lead, Golden Dawn Gains Momentum
http://hellasfrappe.blogspot.co.uk/2012 ... cracy.html

The New Democracy party might still be leading the political scene, according to the first public opinion poll this summer following the June national elections, but believe it or not the Golden Dawn party is gaining momentum and from what it looks like it will soon challenge PASOK for third position! According to the first public opinion poll by ALCO, conducted for the Proto Thema newspaper, the New Democracy party is leading the pack with 24.8%, SYRIZA is next in line with 22.8%, followed by the PASOK party with 9.8% and believe it or not the Golden Dawn party is narrowing in at 8.6%. The Independent Greek party is steady at 6.8%, while the Democratic Left is at 5.2% and the Greek Communist Party (KKE) rose a tiny fraction to close at 4.7%.

PASOK is presently in third position, and analysts believe that it will continue to lose support and drop down to under 5%.

In terms of the most popular leader, Prime Minister Antonis Samaras collected 34%, SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras 30%, PASOK leader Evangelos Venizelos 19%, the chairman of the Independent Greek party Panagiotis Kammenos 23%, the head of the Golden Dawn party Nikos Michaloliakos 18.5%, the head of Democratic Left party Fotis Kouvelis 34% and the chairperson of the KKE Aleka Papariga 13%.

Likewise it points out the design appears in EG Ancient China- perhaps it was carried there by the people who went on to take the ancient Greek art of Pankration to Korea to invent Tae Kwon Do in 1950?

Thanks for the assist pass. I was expecting it for some time. I knew you would offer it to me sooner or later. :D

If one looks hard enough we can make any amount of similarities between the Nazis and any government/country/Empire/culture. In another 100 years or so, Hitler and the Nazis will be just another part of the past that has no greater meaning than, say, Attila the Hun or Genghis Khan. Look at WWI - it was supposed to be the war to end all wars and how many have there been since then?

If Χρυσή Αυγή are neo-Nazis, then what is anyone going to realistically do about it? Ban them? Ban their doctrines? They can't be stopped. They should be applauded for their 'home comes first' attitude.

All you liberal do-gooders complain about the politics of Χρυσή Αυγή because they are up front with their policies, but what about the hidden agendas of the political parties you all vote for? If you knew what your governments were truly up to, do you think anyone would vote for them?

Have you been taking maths lessons from VP, that comes to 171.5%?

Welcome to the forum, "K". :D

Most of what you say is sloppily inaccurate and naughtily alarmist, if true. Very nazist tactics, methinks. Even so, there are/were many (real) Nazis who did not deny the Holocaust. They proudly talked about it. Does that "non-denial" of the Holocaust dismiss them from being Nazis? Besides, we have an esteemed Human Rights lawyer here, who thinks countries that not only deny genocides but also (presently) carry out racist ethnic cleansing, apartheid and invasion of territories are also not Nazis. So do you have any actual evidence that GD are in fact "Nazis" and not merely concerned citizens?

We always had fascists that supported so called "solutions" for the Cyprus Problem based on ethnic cleansing, human rights violations and racist discriminations. You are one of them, and you are in the forum since 2004.

I watched each one and the main undercurrent was pandering to the reactionary masses by inciting panic and hysteria. I used to be one of these wishy-washy uni lecturers showing journalism students how to analyse content and footage. Some were surprised to learn about house styles designed not just to influence but to reassure and confirm the readers' inherent (and latent) prejudices. Back on the streets now with a reporter's notebook, but that pinko stuff rocked!
