An interesting article.
But to be fair, the article seems to be sensationalist hype and the assessment seems quite unfair to the majority of Greeks.
The elites in Greece and Cyprus however seem to lack unity, especially on a political front. The elites in the diaspora are just ignorant gossips or remnants of a bygone era which no longer exists in Greece or Cyprus. They, to some extent, think they are better, but little do they know they are a laughing stock and a massive embarrassment to both Greece and Cyprus.
My view is that Greeks in Greece are very different and very progressive. The article seems to neglect the true nature of Greeks which is family, and a seemingly unrivalled gentle kindness and warmth.
Golden Dawn, are a flash in the pan. The new political force in Greece seems to be Siriza, whom have a very Euro skeptic outlook and are against the capitalism and the bankers that have all contributed to Greece's plight with EU help.
Golden Dawn is not the answer and the majority of Greeks know this.
But, in adversity, these groups take advantage of the people's misery to further their own agenda which like any other political movement, is power more than anything else. But this misery is temporary and as it subsides then so will Golden Dawn.
