Oh come on, I'm not short fat bald or old, and I don't moan all the time.
The weather is great, the pace of life, the fresh air, the fresh food. It does have its down side, expensive internet charges, but I won't go on, otherwise I will be moaning.

Interesting question.
With no exaggeration I will have to say that Cyprus is paradise!!! imo I think it's the perfect mix of a paradise island with unspeakable beauty and civilization. Beautiful enough to stay here for the rest of your life in comfort, but progressive enough so you can be able to access services like 3G video calling, fast internet or Cable/Sat TV.
Cyprus is also in the center of the world! You could travel Europe, Middle East and Africa and be back home within 3-4 hours flight!!!!!!!!!!!

When I think of Paradise islands I think something like the image bellow, not Cyprus
What I agree is that Cyprus has a very good mix. Nice nature with lots of variety (sea, mountain, Akamas...) you can do water ski in summer and snow ski in winter. Nice weather most of the year. Touristy but you can do business also. Not like paradise islands that are just for vacations. Lower crime compared to the rest of EU. No place is perfect. But if you are looking for a not very fast paced place to live and work then Cyprus is a very good choice.
I know this will piss you guys off, but all of the above counted items are not found in north Cyprus, so can we call it a paradise? (ok we have some sort of internet and well some shop)
