Russia Throws Day-Glo Dressed Singers Into Gulag

Postby bill cobbett » Fri Aug 17, 2012 11:56 pm

Absolutely frigging disgraceful...

The three members of the brightly-dressed Pussy Riot female punk band have been thrown in to a Russian Penal Colony for two years for performing a protest song critical of the support of the Church for Russian Leader Putin, in a church.

There is clearly the hand of the new Czar Putin and the Russian Orthodox Church behind this court decision. Neither are respecters of criticism and freedom of expression and protest.

The song along with this band's performances may have been rubbish but two years in prison for singing an atheist anti-Putin protest song in a church is way, way excessive.

The song included the line... "The Lord is Shit" ... too bleeding true.... and so is Czar Putin ... and his Church friends.

Bill not for nothing Church leaders had been persecuted by the communists in the past and Anarchists also. Maybe you should read about how these brave Anarchists would attack Volga Germans that practiced nonviolence. They are the same shit but just a different asshole from that of a fascist. Both are extremely brave and will attack what they find to be the weakest of there hatred. Example fascist attacks a immigrant while the Anarchist attacks a peaceful being that wont cause him harm. Like I said same shit just a different asshole.

I enjoyed Putin's comments on Russia Today. He pointed out that if these little slags had vandalized a synagogue, there would have been massive global outrage against them. He also quipped that had they done it in a mosque in the Caucasus, his security would not have been able to save them from instant death. Without expressing my own views on religion, I think it's good to see Christians standing up for themselves for a change. I respect the Russian Orthodox church far more than the so-called Archbishop of Canterbury, who goes around whining about how he doesn't want to offend immigrants.

I disagree on likening fascists to anarchists. Fascism, as Adorno (communist) said, is a natural reaction to capitalistic exploitation. The way to avoid it is to curb globalisation and effectively punish money lenders who are out of control. Without mass immigration and corporate exploitation, fascist parties would not have a leg to stand on in Europe.
The way to deal with anarchists, is to give them a hard day's work and a bath. They all have soft bourgeois upbringings and soft hands. Bear in mind what Putin is doing is far more mild than the Leninist approach: under that system all those fragmentary elements of the left (anarchist, social democrat, liberal, trade unionist) were dumped in ditches once they had served their subversive purpose.
