I have had a quick look at improving energy efficiency such as geothermal air cooling, solar heating/cooling systems or PV but these are beyond my means and the case of eg an absorbtion/adsorption system probably OTT as not cost effective-

With the very high cost of electricity on CY at the mo... it's a pretty topical subject.

I've completed the survey...

I question this opening statement in the introduction though...

The research concerns the existing building stock in Cyprus, which need to be refurbished/retrofitted in order to have less carbon dioxide emissions.

Even if you believed in the Man Made Global Warming Scam, Cyprus could reduce her emissions to zero and have no impact on world-wide emissions. We are less than a million people.

However, I'd be very keen to reduce my energy bills, to be warmer in winter and cooler in summer...

As more and more people become more aware of how they have been conned into paying for expensive and pointless CO2 reduction (wind farms, etc.), I think you'll have more interest in insulation and renewable energy by promoting the cost savings to the consumer rather than the necessity of attempting to 'save the world' from the demon CO2.
