Under the title “Songs and dances for ‘Ayse return home’”, Turkish Cypriot daily Afrika newspaper (16.08.12) reports that the youth organizations of the New Cyprus Party (YKP), the United Cyprus Party (BKP), the Cypriot Youth Platform (KGP), the Feminist Atelier (FEMA) and independent young activists organized an anti-militarist peace operation concert at Sarayonu Square in the occupied part of Lefkosia on 14 August, the day on which the second stage of the 1974 Turkish invasion of Cyprus started. Bands from Turkey and the occupied area of Cyprus participated in the activity, to which messages were sent from Turkey’s Freedom and Democracy Party (ODP) and the European Bureau for Conscientious Objection.

According to the paper, hundreds of persons watched the activity during which slogans such as “The vacation ended, Ayse go home”, "Return home Ayse”, “End the occupations”. [Translator’s note: ‘Ayse’ was the code name used for the Turkish occupation army in 1974 by the then Turkish Foreign Minister Turan Gunes, who, in order to give the signal for the beginning of the second phase of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus, said that “Ayse can go for vacation now”].

Referring to the same issue, Cenk Mutluyakali reports in his column in Turkish Cypriot daily Yeni Duzen newspaper (16.08.12) that two “peace activities” were held this year and that he chose to go to the concert of Turkish Bandista band. He says that while the people were “shouting” and singing, undercover “intelligence officers” were taking their pictures from the balcony of the “courts”.

Any photos? I'd love to see vp, halil and kentish dancing!
or maybe vp was one of the 'intelligence officers'.... 'cos he's oozing with 'intelligence' from every pore.

...don't look at me, i just find it funny since it is Erdogan who calls "you" parasites, where the most done since then, is one public toilet, there within the garbage piled up for months on the streets; seriously, no matter how sad it really is, doesn't that make you laugh somehow?

...as for those who sing and dance protesting for the Turkish Army's removal, call me a fanatic, but i say that is a good first step.

this is where things fall appart. where did you get that from. besleme does not mean parasite. parasite is actually a turkish word too parasit. besleme is the kid you allow in to your home and they work for their keep like a slave. he never called tcs parasite but besites that how can you not critise the asshole who put this up and called tcs latriners. what kind of dialog is this ffs.

as to the dancers the fanatics on here should be kissing the arses of these barve souls who have the guts to do such a thing.

i don't see any gcs crossing over and doing such things. do you. no balls see. too busy chasing donkeys.

...interesting, "besleme ", still an insulting gesture from the man so much has been sacrificed for.

indeed it will require open rebellion against the Army, someone will have to die, for a Cypriot Flag, something so unjust no one can ignore its offence.

...these brave souls are a vanguard which must grow, in the mean time, without photos, i wonder how many flags flew and their colours.

Interesting: Can you analyse what para-site means exactly? Give the definition of the to words it consists of (para-site)?

.......besleme is the kid you allow in to your home and they work for their keep like a slave.....

So he only called you child-slaves whom he allowed into his home (i.e. North Cyprus)? And you have to work for him like donkeys in order to simply survive? You are right then. No insult meant for TCs heh?
