Tremendous that he runs in these Games on a level playing field with his peers, must be a great inspiration to many people and isn't that a part of what these People's Games are about, the current generation of athletes inspiring the next generation...???

I don’t understand the big deal! They put springs on his limbs and now he is racing like a Kangaroo.

I’ll just wait a few years when they invent bionic legs to point to the clever one wearing them!

No, no, no reh... they have done scientific tests and the blades offer no advantage over and above tendons and muscles etc.

In any event, look at it this way and it's the only way to look at it imho, it takes the same sort of determined dedication, training every day for hours and hours to perform at this level... Surely...???

I’d only be inspired if he were running on his limbs.

If artifical assistance is to be allowed then what’s to stop another person without limbs from overtaking him with a specially modified motorcycle? :?

Exactly what I predicted would happen happened!

Someone else comes along with better technology and beats him. I guess he’s your new hero now eh Bill?

Yes, watched the chappy from Brazil winning last night, bottom line he was the better runner on the night and he wanted to win more.

Excellent race as he kept something in reserve with 50m to go, accelerated and beat a spent Pistorius to the line.

Pistorius has since apologised for his comments of last night.

Hmm...I just saw Yialousa's topic on some guy dying in a cell at the hands of British police and everyone slating him because it had nothing at all to do with Cyprus. If that's the case - and I have no argument with it - what the Hell has Oscar Pistorius (South African), at the Paralympics held in England, got to do with Cyprus?

Let's have it fair and square.

Yialousa...Tell me about it. A few of my posts have been pulled but there was nothing wrong with them, I've seen off-topic posts, anto-Greek racist posts and personal attack posts being left on. I suppose it depends who you are, who you're friendly with and where your allegiances lie.
