Oh dear! ... speaking of weight-challenged ladies... the athlete from Turkiye has just been disqualified from the 400m Hurdles heat for leaving the blocks on the "set" command !!!... Don't think she was after an advantage to be fair to her but it's one strike and you're out in these sprints nowadays.

Settling down for the Men's 100m with our friends from Jamaica.

Look out for the GB youngster Gemili by the way,18yo, won't win or even may not qualify for the final, but he's only been running for a few months. Looks like the games aren't just Inspiring the Next Generation, they are here already!!

Boxing... not terribly approving of boxing, well people hitting each other and it all looks very painful... oh and the Great Regional Power, Turkiye, has finally managed to win a medal... a bronze one.

Yialoser... just plain stupid.

BMX... spills and thrills all the way! These guys spend more time in the air than on the ground. Very exciting stuff.

The course is full of ups and downs... reminds of some roads in CY.

Mountain Bikes... Men's Cross-country... respect to the CY Cyclist Marios Athanasiadis (from Nicosia) and all the other cyclists who tackle this course... it is sooo full of drops and hills and very painful-looking rocky sections. Most of us would have trouble scrambling down these sections on our feet, let alone riding a bike down there. We're in for a treat of a finish with three closely-packed riders leading the race with minutes to go... it's gonna be an exciting sprint for the medals.

These Great Games are nearly over... waiting in anticipation for the Closing Ceremony, which promises to be quite a party, with a sing-along for the People amongst some iconic London Landmarks.

... oh and we're promised a song or two from the sort of CY George Michael... Lovely... :(

Can just say to fellow Londoners, now the Games are over, enough with the happy, smiley faces.

Can we please now get back to normality, to being grumpy Londoners. Thank you.
