You can say that again bout the soap operas in general. But coming to the turkih one shown on greek stations the problem is that the Greeks are shown a very unrealistic, very "civilized", very sympathetic picture of the Turkish society which appears to be more European than the European ones.

I have seen this complaint - At the risk of going off-topic I suspect that the Turkish TV producers would not be permitted to make a show that showed life in Turkey as it is for most Turks. I am not a fan of Eastenders or Coronation Street but these at least have some semblance of realism about everydya life for most Brits, albeit the story lines are contrived to have the same few individuals living in a constant state of domestic crises of some sort, but few of the characters or the lives they lead are aspirational. Many other soaps tend however to set Human drama in an idealised world where the only items on the floor that should no be there tend to be items of designer clothing carelessly cast-off as the actors climb into a luxurious bed for a bit of naughty in a very modern stylish designer bed-room, where the big stress arises from the risk of the husband/wife fnding out.

I am not aware of any ban - I understand that Athens municipality said Syntagma Square could not be made available for this type of event, and Golden Dawn was advised to use a square in the capital's Gazi district instead.

This shows these people as a very dangerous group with no respect for law and order - the accused is in custody and I hope and expect that after due process as he has admitted the offences he will get to spend a lot of time a Greek jail. That is the way it should be.
