I didn't take any courses back then because I had no connection with or interest in Greece or Cyprus.
I'm older now & live in Cyprus so I would like to know what the fixation is with (some) GCs about aligning themselves to Greece rather than forging their own independent path. It genuinely baffles me as modern Greece is hardly something to aspire to.

I asked on here because the attitudes & predjudices of the respondants are at least if not more interesting than the bare facts. I could get those at the library.

It's not a "fixation" to align ourselves with Greeks. We are ethnically Greek (the natives) and for too long the British tried to silence us so that they can keep Cyprus isolated and under their own control.

Now we have a voice within the EU and are free to mingle with our brothers and sisters from the mainland! :)

I had a tertiary education, unlike you ;) And by the way ... it should be "Pe tin alithkia gie mou". If you want to write Cypriot dialect with Latin characters at least do it right

If GR had to visit Oz again, the US , Canada or SA, i'm afraid we'd have a spree killer on our hands. lol
That's the way they've been educated at home and at the community centers.

Propaganda has been around for milleniums and taking over a country's education system is perhaps the most effective way to eliminate a people as has been done to Cypriots by Greece, but pray tell... how come most of you aren't asking any questions? How do you differ from sheep?

Can I borrow your Greek book on Cypriot to Latin conversions?

I guess they've covered that subject too!

Speaking from experience, from my neck of the woods, most did indeed. 'Greeks of Cyprus'.
Business, church, Greek schools, Greek clubs. etc

Not saying I agree, but that was the case.

So (1) when did this mass conversion take place, (2) why did it take place given that such a bizarre thing has never happened to any other country in the world, (3) and what evidence do you have of it, (4) and finally what are you going to do about 100% Cypriot people like me who deny your shitty allegations?

So you are baffled that our our ethnicity doesn't fluctuate but it is fixed? You are baffled that we don't turn our backs to other Greeks when they have problems?

No "conversion" necessary. I was born here among Greeks. Greek speakers going back several connected generations. With Greek practicing churches built several centuries ago. With Greek writing in records going back thousands of years.

- Agreed some are not Greek. You can feel a "conversion" to whatever you like since you are from abroad. But the majority are the natives who are Greek.
