The first ever computer was invented by the Greeks 2000 years ago called the "antikythera mechanism"
How smart is that! Even by today's standard that is quite amazing don't you think? :D

Therefore, you go by your own unsubstantiated beliefs (or illusions or what you want to believe). Thank you for admitting it.

The ancient Greeks. Yes.

The sore point is that the modern Greeks have continuity issues.

Check out the Israeli's, you'll be amazed.

So, which are considered the "GREAT" countries of today?

- And, when you have chosen this "great" country, "what's so great about xxxxx?"

Let me make it simple.

1. You argue that for 1000 years the Greeks in the Byzantine (Hellenistic) territories did nothing to progress and to advance further the sciences and the achievements of the ancients. Who says so (except you)?

2. I proved to you the contrary by submitting data about sciences, literature, art etc during the Byzantine era. What do you have to produce as counter proof and authoritative counter argument to that?

3. If you refer to the period from 1400 to 1900 I will agree with you. You see, it was the period when the western Europeans were enjoying and exploiting the riches of the Greek mind, revealed to them by the Greek refugee scholars, while the Greeks of the East had to live under the dark oppression of the Mongoloids.
