This sounds strange to me. I would expect taht people who travelled from the ends of the world and generally from other countries to come to the games would not miss this chance to visit the center and the shops there.

the figures are out and shopping etc is on the up.

I thought that the closing ceremony was like the Curate's egg!

My parents thought the Spice Girls and Michezl Palin were the best bit, while I thought many of the songs just innappropriate, eg George Micheal's second song which was so full of self pity - I enjoyed Brian May and The Who, the best but how could Pete Townsend play with his jacket covering the strings?
