The Greek Olympic Committee is just another classic example of the Greeks F*cking up their own country. Was her crime so bad, I mean FFS. A young girl trained all her life for this opportunity and by a simple error of judgement gets punished so harshly. Na tous pari o Diavolous to Elliniko Symvoulio. Malakismeni.

They could have just cautioned the girl, after all she apologised immenaiately and in any case, who doesn't throw those sorts of comments these days. You only have to look at some of the other local forums to see how the brits are slating everyday Cyprus and its people.

My opinion is that the Greek Committee should DEMAND the same treatment against the other two as well. They aimed their biased attack on a particular nation and against their co-athletes.

As far as I am concerned the Greek Committee should even withdraw the Greek team from the games if the other two were not to be banned. We are either talking of equal treatment here or we are not. And I think even the other Greek Athletes themselves should go on "strike" and boycott the games unless the two are punished.

Personally, I think the German and British tweets are more offensive. The fact is that many Greeks are suffering real hardship during the current depression and some are going hungry hence the number of soup-kitchens in Athens. If someone made a joke about Ethiopian athletes eating all the food at the Olympics during the Ethiopian famine there would be outrage.

The German/British tweets play into a stereotype of 'feckless' and lazy' southern Europeans who are now 'begging' for money from the 'virtuous' northern Europeans. This is stupid, insensitive and racist.

The Greek athlete's remarks are just silly in comparison.
