Kept parasites is a valid interpretation of Erdogan's comments. That's what everyone took Erdogan's comments to mean. In fact, kept parasites is clearer and more apt than 'fed and maintained'. People are just filling in the meaning. So yes, Turkish Cypriots in the occupied areas are parasites. Fed and maintained by Turkey.

It's probably the case that some TC athletes are probably too scared to individually approach the COC to take part in the Olympic games under the flag of the RoC for fear of reprisals from Grey Wolf terrorists.
