( Ypu must remember that invasion and conquest with cultural supression etc is only allowed to be done by Greeks like e.g. by the so called Mycenaeans and by Megolomaniac Alexender the Great.

The word "ISTANBUL" is the combination of the three greek words "Is Tin Poli" meaning to the polis, i.e., to Constantinople (the Greeks used to call Constantinople "the Polis".

So, I would rather use the initial whole Greek name (Constantinople) than the three Greek words that indicate the same city.

Isn't it so very simple?

Absolutely! All of these conditions should be met not only before Turkey is ever allowed to host the Olympics but also before it is ever allowed to join the EU.

It's not the ancient name fool. It's the proper name. 'istanbul' is the temporary occupation name of the city. But soon it will be free...
