Kids? Clubbing and night life? We need more info.

You'll need to hire a car. Can't do CY without one.

oh a car? don't want to drive in cypress :o
no kids. some night life but just as happy to go to a nice bar with a bit of dancing?
Maybe travel with friends? Or should i get a boyfriend just for a week or 2?
Would like to see Nicosia as that is where my dad is from.
But i guess cypress is a beautiful place to visit :P

Oh dear, listen to us theodosia please.... you can't do CY without a car!

... and driving in CY with a hire car is a piece of puss. You can choose which side of the road to drive on, you can park on pavements and across drive-ways, speed as much as you want etc etc.

Prob best to go with a friend or two and share a car, apartment etc.

Yes, but that scares me to drive on either side of the road! Someone driving towards me on the same side :?

...bill can tell you exactly where this is, but there is a hotel in the mountains built like a village, lots of family people, cheap since your little hut can be shared.

...in smaller villages you will find somewhere to eat, and places to stay, follow your nose, and the scenery you want to sit in. you can always ask at a cafe for them to make you what you like a day ahead (if they serve food), they like that too. can you still hire cabbies by days (will they work for food?)?

...and somewhere by the airport in Nicosia, by the buffer zone, there is (was, it was a long time ago) the most wonderful Taverna where mezze is king, ask for a bottle of Johnny Walker not a glass.

...where the heck is that beautiful restaurant surrounded by sugar canes (about ten years ago, that once was in Famagusta in my youth), a terrific ocean view, and fangri, a fish most delicious but ugly.

if you want to swim and are wimp when it comes to cold water come in the Autumn - October -even early November. However if the beach is not quite so important or you are hardy make it March - then everything is Green, the Flamingoes are on the salt lakes, there is usually snow in the mountains, the flowers our out, etc

Places to visit?

The Troodos,( lots of places including outlying villages on the way in) - Akamas, Curium and Pafos (for the antiquities) .

You mean Cypriots and their national guard...and the nasty politics involves the illegal invasion by Turkey and illegal occupation of the North in clear vilolation of Turkey's treaty obligations .
