... and on Friday morning we are in for a really special treat... England will be filled with the beautiful Sounds of Bells as the Church Bells of England will be ringing their delightful peels across the country to mark the day.... Lovely.

Good idea the church bells. You sure you got the permission of non Christians to do that though? I mean they show enough tolerance to have to listen to them every Sunday. Now on a Friday also? I don't know Bill

Church-bell ringing in England has little to do with religion mate, Christian or Non-Christian.
Bell-ringing in England is a kind of sport with a long tradition of division and conflict between Church and Bell-Ringers.
In the past, the Bell-Ringers were an independent, anarchic and very disrespectful lot who would lock themselves in the Church Tower where drinking warm English Ale to excess was as much a feature of their hobby as ringing the changes. This led to much friction with the Church Authorities who would not look kindly on these drunken drinking parties and the inevitable urination in the Church Tower.

Ah I see. Sounds as a much safer sport than the one in Chios where the Churches shoot hundreds of missiles against each other in Easter heh?
