...you vote for an Upper House electing from two seperate slates, a Turkish Representative and a Greek Representative; the majority of seats determines who leads, and whose leader is President. from a third slate an Independant Representative will be elected for the Lower House, without Party affiliation, voting by consesus through their Speaker, having the right to sit and vote in the Goverment's Committees.

...in my Cyprus, the Upper House of the Legislature has one seat Maronite, two seats Armenian, 50 seats Turkish, and 50 seats Greek. to lead, a President must hold a majority of these seats. therefore, Parties will form around leaders who represent Principals important Universally.

a Lower House also exists. their benefit to the State is the power they hold as sober second thinkers, voting on Bills passed by the Upper House through their Speaker, by consesus. their debate a Public review of the Committees' (in which they hold seats) efforts in making Legislation; for Citizens, regardless the majority in the Upper House, transparency. at a subtle level, the Independant Representative truly is, a representative of their riding, someone these electors hold in esteem personally, rather than the Principals Parties represent. these Individuals may go on to be Politicians in the Upper House, it is hoped from their experience in the Lower House, that they will have a deeper appreciation of their roots.

the voter therefore is confronted by several different Slates of Candidates, having one vote to make on each Slate, the Parties compete by offering to these Constituencies on all the Slates (or whatever portion they are able) Candidates. in this manner the seats are filled by election where they can be seen to be Fair, even if voters can take advatage, by voting strategically (all for the same Party, or seperately because of particular Policy they support, or by the actual Candidate).

...it is not tricky, ask your questions clearly, this is Good Government, when there is debate.

repulse the Maronites and Armenians hold the key and will never vote against GCs, so the TCs are f--ked once again. Is this the best you can do? the bottom line is we cannot let GCs dominate and take control of the whole island there has to be checks and balances to ensure both sides cannot maipulate the situation to their advanatage or harbour any hidden agendas like union with Greece but only the good of all the islands citizens.

What is this complex you have about Turkishness? you cannot erase this like you cannot erase the Greekness from GCs. Isnt 53 more than 50? you are trying to sell us out the Armenians and Maronite s sided with GCs, they did not fight for their rights like us so they should be included in your 50, otherwise this suggestion is rubbish.

OK lets go with your logic we have voted these people, read and understand this.....the Armenians and Maronites will always side with the GCs thats 53 reps in the upper house 53 vs 50 game over for TCs, expalin to us what will happen when the TCs start saying they have no real say in the running of the country as was the case in 1963?
