I have read in a number of sources including a recent Irish Times Article that there are only 80 or 90 thousand "Turkish" Cypriots.

40 thousand Turkish Troops for 80-90 thousand TC's translates to one soldier for every 2 Turkish Cypriots.

How many of those 90,000 Turkish Cypriots are separatist extremists? lets be generous and say that 50% want a separate Turkish nation on the island or to join Turkey.

Then this becomes one Turkish Soldier for every Turkish Cypriot wanting taksim or separatism. Are the extremists Turkish Cypriots who use this forum telling that it comes down to 50,000 Turkish Cypriots that are stopping me from living in my home?

Sorry about this rant. My sister has just come back from Cyprus and shown me another of those videos where I am given a tour of my village. The Turkish Officer who used my house as a holiday house has apparently not used the house for more than 4 years according to the neighbours. It is just sitting there now. My tricycle is still under the staircase. weeds have taken over the yard. 5 years ago another family member visted, the Turkish ex-officer was still using our appliances and furniture. Most of the cottages built around 5 years ago on our other properties are vacant and crumbling. The original homes are in better condition LOL. There are some British pensioners who are very unfriendly.

The Turkish cypriots are methodically being driven out of the occupied areas, soon there will be the 40,000 turk soldiers protecting 10 remaining Turkish Cypriots.

There is no question about it, those that 'purchased' property in the occupied areas will eventually accept that they have lost their 'investment' and they had been scammed by the Turks.
