Yes he is, a lot of my family said he was very good looking and he was always dressed very smart suit and tie.

just a thought if my dad's brother george worked for the coca cola factory in nicosia then this like sounding name (galantcta) would be close by? just wondering if george would travel to work but would be close to home...what and how did the greeks get to work in the 50'S would it be on foot or bus some other form of transport?

The coca-cola factory was (may still be, is it still there???) in the neighbourhood called Strovollos, which is a couple of miles to east of Aglangia.

Neighborhood called Strovolos? Strovolos is the 2nd largest municipality in Cyprus after Lemesos!!

And thats Pepsi not Coca Cola, Coca Cola is in Ayios Dhometios.

I know so little detail just trying to put it all togetter and get an answer. so im not sure ....though my family did tell me it was the coca cola factory in nicosia and not pepsi...will try and so some research on that ayios dhometios and lemesos and strovolos.

yes, i do need to check this out too, was thinking my dad and brother would most likely live near by and would narrow down my search.

I talked to an old friend a few hours ago, he lives here in the US, he grew up in Nicosia(Strovolos area). I mentioned your post and your father's name, and he did tell me that the name sounded familiar to him. He is a bit younger then your father but he did know many people throughout the city. He said he is going to ask his brother. I'll keep you posted
