Well, they all do realise that what Turkey is really after is regional leading/dominant/super power role. And control of ALL resources. And certainly most Arab countries don't like that. Nor do the Israelis, the Russians, the French and others.

How about offering some base space to the USofA to show to Turkey that they are not indespensible?

Either at Pafos or (if the SBA can be closed down at Akrotiri)....

Considering that next to Israel, Cyprus is the only non Islamic country of the Middle East which already has “strategic” relationships with both Russia and Israel, could these developments lead to new opportunities and a new role for Cyprus? Could Cyprus become a partner to an anti Islamic Russian-Israeli axis in the East Med? Would such a role pose dangers for Cyprus or would it strengthen its security and status in the region? Would it increase or reduce the chances of a solution to the CY problem? Would such a role be welcomed by the EU?

Maybe both, it looks like Russia and Israel are preemptively trying to contain Turkey, from the north and Israel,Greece and Cyprus in the west and south and since there is more focus on Cyprus nowadays then more focus on the Cyprus problem, which certainly could be used against Turkey in the future.

and Chris Toffee-Arse won't do it either because he is to busy brown-toungueing himself with Chavez and Castro, joining them in spouting Anti-US rhetoric, and selling us out to to Russia, even though Russia has long since ceased to be a communist regime, but is rapidy becoming a corrupt dictatorship as the personal feif of Putin, who with only a modest salary has apparently managed to accummulate Billions, where if so he is probably the Richest man in Russia, therefore rich by world standards, and who according to many relaible reports is trying to stiffle all forms of legitiamte opposition and peaceful protest, in the process making himself the modern Tsar.

Everyone is getting into place for the pipeline construction. That is when Turkey is going to have a huge temper tantrum like a spoiled child. This time threatening is not going to cut it. Any violence by the Turks is going to be their end game. This is why the IDF, HAF, and Cyprus conducted drills, the Russians are readying themselves and even opening military cooperation with the IDF. I don't know about giving bases to the US is good, it may not do anything there are British bases already and it might piss off the Russians. I think giving the Russians a Naval port would be good for security. The Russians don't give a shit about the Turkish threats.
