How does the RoC place an order for such weapons?
The russians want to give us 13b euros, surely we could spare a couple for these?
What say you guys?

DEBKAfile Exclusive Report June 23, 2012, 12:55 PM (GMT+02:00)
http://www.debka.com/

Syria Friday shot down the Turkish Super Phantom jet with the sophisticated self-propelled medium range anti-air Buk-M2 missiles (NATO codenamed SA-11) recently supplied by Russia. Short of time to master the advanced SA-11, the Syrian crews would have called on their Russian instructors to help fire it. DEBKAfile: Moscow and Damascus may have decided to stop the almost daily Turkish air force flights over the Syrian coast for spying on Russian arms deliveries through the Russian bases of Tartus and Latakia.

As you have stated above, that I'm sure this was not the first incursion by the TAF into the Syrian airspace, and I'm sure the Syrians have warned Turkey not to do it. But Turkey thinks they are a superpower so they gave the middle finger to Assad, Erdogan's long time friend. Well, looks like the last incursion was the one that broke the turkey's back and Assad gave the middle finger to his old friend Erdigan and shot the plane down. I'm sure this will be the last incursion into Syrian airspace by TAF.

Erdogan had stated that Syria had apologised for shooting down the plane. Really? I haven't heard any apologies coming from Syria at all. No doubt this was an attempt by Erdogan to make believe no action will be taken by Turkey since Syria had apologised, just so that no one will find out that Turkey is really a toothless tiger. Israel had already proved that point, since they did not apologise killing 10 Turks on Mavi Marmara. As for Gül's statements that fast planes often cross into air spaces of other countries, is a classic idiotic statement. Talk about trying to save face. Looks like Turkey has used two more Turks as sacrificial lambs to their deaths to try and push their weight around.

As for Erdogan and Assad's long time friendship, I only have this to say, "If you can't fcuk a friend, who can you fcuk"!

Sounds to me like it is you who is the pothead with brain-dead cells all over the place.

As for getting fcuked by a friend at one point in ones life, who hasn't!

If I hated Turks, I wouldn't have gone to Turkey (again and again and again) few weeks ago.

Do I have to like the policies of the idiotic Turkish government policies.? HELL NO!

Some comments made by me back in February 2012.
Read the articles with the link below.

Kikapu wrote:The same article also points out Turkey's weakness in the area as a "regional power" against Syria after she became the forerunner to get involved in Syria, in the hopes that it would get help from NATO, a repeat of Libya situation with France who had taken the lead in the early days of that conflict, but instead, Turkey finds herself all alone , and after all the bravado expressed by Turkey in the last year or so in sorting out the Syrian President Assad with repeated warnings to him, Turkey is now eating humble pie by the truck loads.

Last but not least, another article about where Turkey has/is gone/going wrong with Syria. What will the West think of Turkey if Turkey does not go forward with their expectations by Turkey getting militarily involved in Syria?

Personally, I think the West is egging Turkey into the Syrian conflict without any support from them, perhaps in the hopes for Turkey getting a bloody nose from it. What do you think, Bananiot?

Another interpretation of the insident is that maybe Turkey provoked the insident in order to force NATO to get involved (to protect a member state/Turkey) as it has been trying to do these past weeks.

They had been proposed to the RoC some years back but the RoC settled for another Russian type. I will come back on it later. (Have to consult my archives first). :D

What a stupid clown:

Turkish deputy PM says downed jet not a warplane:
http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/turkis ... sCatID=338

ANKARA - Reuters

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc said today a jet that was shot down by Syria a day earlier was not a warplane but a reconnaissance aircraft, state television TRT reported.

It was not immediately clear where Arinc, who is one of four deputy prime ministers and also the government's spokesman, was speaking. Turkish media reported the downed jet was an F-4 Phantom, a supersonic jet fighter which can also carry out reconnaissance operations.

I suppose they are using them to take pictures of turkish coasts to produce tourist postcards

According to this pleb : http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/syria- ... sCatID=338

The plane was shot down without warning, the Turks are 100% in the right since this act by the Syrian regime is against all dynamics of international law. :?

The Turks have got their knickers in a twist and what are they going to do about it : “We are not considering a military action now,”.
