Tried the Orphanides at Skarinou. 90% of the shelves seemed empty and the 10% with any product on were 90% empty.

Why bother? There are plenty Cypriot supermarkets to buy from.

Ooh you will upset Aunty not supporting a Greek owned store.....

When it comes to countries, Cyprus has priority.

Glad I am not a peasant. Here in Nicosia we have many options. 8)

Ignore him, he's a bad troll. Personally, I do not distinguish between Greek and Cypriot. Regional variants, that's all. Both ultimately Greek. :D

Apparently not!

Just the other day you were distinguishing between Greek businesses importing Turkish or the enemies produce!

I don't think so - that was you posting about specifically Greek-people in Australia buying Turkish goods from specifically Greek-owned businesses. You embellished with some venom.

I wouldn't have distinguished in that way. Unless there's regional variation in products and I have to go into details, e.g. Kalamata olives, Chios gum or Geroskipou loukoumia. Kalamata is on the Greek mainland whereas Chios gum is from the island of Chios and Geroskipou is on the island of Cyprus. Most of the shops in Green Lanes used to be Cypriot-sourced and supplied specifically Cypriot-grown potatoes or large watermelons from Greece as they were harder to transport from Cyprus etc

I don't embellish!

I only report my own personal observations on the subject since that is what was being discussed!

No venom, just fact. Greek businesses import Turkish Produce and sell it to mainly Greek patrons in lieu or as a substitute to dearer Greek Produce.

That is all I said.

Cypriot Produce is not Greek Produce. Not merely a regional distinction but an entirely different country and economy!

Furtermore dear Oracle,

I don't have any issue with Greek Produce or Cypriot Produce.

Whenever I have an opportunity to buy Greek Produce such as Kalamata Olives, I would do so.

When Greece was in the headlines, I would seek it out so that Australia can import more. I do the same with Cypriot Produce.

I am not happy seeing Greece or Cyprus suffer in any way.

What I don't like is how many Greeks don't see it the same way I do. I can't respect individuals, Greeks or Cypriots that avoid their own Produce for cheaper Turkish substitutes.

Ungortunately, I don't have as much opportunity to buy Greek or Cypriot Produce these days unless in Australia or UK.

That's where you're wrong. Cypriot produce is what we should be promoting and supporting whereas Greek or Turkish products should be left to rot.
