Finally you have worked it out neither side really wants a solution.

That's a city they should not have and any compromise needs to come from them. Of course they have more to gain through Reunification than what we do.

And what exactly was that great plan?

this is a twisted half truth VP, one side doesn't really want a solution and it is the side which does not adhere to the 'resolutions' endorsed by the UN and the EU. That is the Turkish side.

Thats where you are wrong the UN resolutions will not solve the dispute all the world knows full well that its was the GCs who rejected the UN plan and the TCs accepted it, so you people are viewed as the side not wanting a solution.

Ok, I agree with Humanist that any proposal put forward should be on our terms.

So how do we achieve this?

With any negotiation, the first offer is always designed to be rejected and puts the instigator on the back foot.

Therefore, if the Turks, under the guise of the TCs put forward the offer of Famagusta under "trnc" administration this should be our opportunity to put in a counter offer (as this is a negotiation.

It should come in the form of, "We accept your offer, but only if the territory is put under an international recognised entity, namely the EU".

If Turkey rejects this offer it will expose their seriousness in joining the EU, and hopefully THEIR rejectionist stance will halt all the EU aid going to Turkey.

If I were President of the RoC I would submit the plane to all parties including EU, UN and TC leadership and stick to that. That is our contribution to the resolution of this long therm issue. Which I believe the TC's are getting sick of it too. But as we know their voice has been lost due to settlers outnumbering them 4:1.

Perhaps the TC's can vote on the plan in a referendum, but again their votes will be swallowed by the settler vote. (Their doomed aren't they?)

Be wary friends, be very wary with scammy people who see negotiations as a poker game at which they have schemed to lose only one chip of value... let's bear in mind that Eroglu/Erdogan have also made inflammatory speeches in the past few months saying No Morphou and No Karpas etc etc .... Take all these speeches on board with this "offer" .
