The aspect of how much Greek settlement there was in the later half of the second millenium BC or sy after 320 BC is questionable where others more experienced than I suggest Cyprus is an insular society and has probbalys had relatively little genetic input from outsiders since 5000BC which is long before the alleged Greek Settlement.

The British did not invade: they took over Cyprus peacefully under lease from the Ottomans in 1873.

They will have integrated into the Cypriot way of life and brought with them their teachings and contacts. It's no coincidence that the language and personal traits have stayed the same through thousands of years and through the many different occupations that have occurred. The one thing, over the centuries, that has remained constant, is the island's 'Greekness'.

The British 'invaded', as such, when their army and governors started to impose their own rule on a nation that wanted independence. Your statement is like saying the Turks didn't invade in 1974 because the Americans allowed it, the Turk Cypriots wanted it and the fact they were a guarantor of the island allowed it.

The Greeks never occupied Cyprus - I didn't reply to your last post because I didn't see it (I was blinded by the amount of absolute crap you manage to spew out using your keyboard). You and a lot of people are absolutely deluded if you think it's only Greeks who cheat people. Here's something you won't know/understand - take any of the large corporations and I guarantee you that they will have done some nasty things in their times. Big businesses rip off small businesses. There was no stealing going on all those thousands of years ago in these regions. The people living along the Mediterranean were one and the same. One big extending family moving over pastures new, assigning heads of tribes, until they got faster at travelling and revisited their kin to trade, compete and swap stories. just a pathetic excuse to justify what you criticse others for - by the time of the so called Mycenaeans, the Eastern med peoples were different from them in a number of ways such as language, religeon, etc. ... not surprising bearing in mind a possible 3400 year separation beween the known arrival of the basis of the current Cypriot population and the early contact with the Mycenaeans, who may well only have arrived in the area in about 2000 BC who spoke a langauge with a differnt origin, the Cypriots probably speaking a Middle Eastern language - at least the Rulers communicated with other rules in the region in Akkadian - while the proto-Greek Mycenaean language was from the Indo-Europen family.
