Under the front page title:“A violation from Italy as well”, Turkish daily Cumhuriyet (28.05.12) reported in its front page that after the “violation” of the occupation regime’s “airspace” by an Israeli aircraft, an Italian aircraft has also “violated” the “TRNC airspace”. The paper points out that the “violations” by Israel and Italy were made in a period parallel to the new tender opened by the Greek Cypriots for oil explorations.
According to the Turkish Air Forces, an Italian F16 plane has violated the “TRNC’s airspace” two days after the Israeli airplane’s “violation”. As soon as the Turkish air forces spotted the Italian plane, reported the incident to the Chief of General Staff who informed the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
The paper concluding said that more “violations” might occurred from countries like France, Malaysia, Korea, Russia and Australia, since there are companies from those countries which are participating to the tender of the Republic of Cyprus.
