You will never get it, how can you halt a train that was motionless anyway? your leverage is no more and any wet dreams you had of the EU gifting you the whole of Cyprus evaporated.

...the EU has shown itself to be an agent of Goodwill, especially with its actions toward Turkey.

they are generous, they do not make threats, especially idle ones; unlike Turkey.

Turkey, or should i say Erdogan, should reflect on this.

we can only hope that the leadership in Turkey seeks to overcome their failings, that tarnishes this country's image so badly.

The EU presidency is not a super political instrument, it is a rotating presidency with mostly ceremonial functions. Turkey made the mistake of elevating the Cyprus presidency into a political issue which it was destined to lose.

But there is also the context, ie the current European wide financial situation which is giving the Cyprus presidency added weight. There will be many extra meetings, negotiations and so on during which Cypriot official will preside, organize, host and so on. So Cyprus will come out of the presidency with enhanced prestige, more than if it had been a run of the mill presidency with no crises and no Turkish histrionics.

Which nation will be judged the more mature and reliable is not hard to see.

Absolutely correct,

For a presidency which is supposedly irrelivent, Turkey has been emotionally reacting, making a very big deal out of it.
