Greece Implodes In Euro Crisis - Thousands Head For Worthing

Written by Colonel Juan
Thursday, 3 November 2011

Thousands of Greek citizens are tonight fleeing their homeland to make a new life in Worthing.

In scenes reminiscent of the days before Russia put up the Berlin wall, Greeks are getting out fast and heading for the beautiful Sussex seaside town - before their bankrupt country loses it's EU membership.

On that day, Greek citizens will also lose their rights to travel and work freely within the Eurozone. So it's suddenly a case of get out whilst the going's good.

"I'll be opening my outdoor Calamari and Kleftiko Trattoria on Worthing promenade two weeks before Christmas," announced lifetime Kos restaurateur Stavros Koksifilis.

"My cousin, Dimitri, will be opening his own Worthing Taramasalata and Chips Café in January. And my brothers Stavros and Costas will open their Promenade Taverna in Worthing High Street in early March. Another brother, Nico, will open a magnificent Rhodes Colossus Grill next door to the Embassy Bingo Club shortly before Easter.

Next summer, a holiday in Worthing will be just like a visit to the Greek Islands..

That'll be four large retsinas, a pint of ouzo and a treble metaxa darling!

Only don't forget the umbrella.

I don't blame them!

IMF backs tax and interest rate cuts to dig UK out of recession

…………..
Expressing concern about weak growth and high levels of youth unemployment, the IMF said the UK needed swift action from the Bank's governor, Sir Mervyn King, but that the chancellor should be ready with a plan B for the economy. Such a plan could include temporary cuts to VAT and national insurance, the IMF said.

…………
Osborne said: "The IMF couldn't be clearer today. Britain has to deal with its debts and the government's fiscal policy is the appropriate one and an essential part of our road to recovery."

P.S. Let's see how TREIR economy will develop after the bills for the Olympic Games expenditure will start coming in:wink:
