No,Lana "donum" is the TC version, though I don't know its origins.Literally it means "one circle" or "one round" but cannot guarantee that its origin is Turkish. They don't have it in Turkey.

BTW,do you have the German ALDI store in Cyprus yet?It is a gem of a supermarket, great products at rock bottom prices. When Aldi arrives you know you have been touched by globalisation! For the better or worse...

RE:- Speed Cameras. Does anyone know what make of cameras they are installing, or which country they have bought them from? There are some cameras (Think it was in Australia) where if you light a small fire in front of the camera (or was it behind?) It sets the camera off, flashing like a strobe light.

Definately not Aus (note: emailed a mate about this - tried it, and nothing happened)

BTW, are the camera's being installed only Speed, or speed and red light?

Hi Pantheman

I gain nothing from whoever advertises here; my role within this site is solely as Moderator, I do not run the site.

Please realise, that Cyprus is not the only country where people have suffered or continue to suffer; the civil war in Russia cost 12 million lives!

I respect you may strong views about the issue of the occupied land in Cyprus, but I just ask that you express them in an intelligent way, rather than weakening your ideas by the use of profanities.

Because,Garbitsch, everybody who has bought land in the NOrth have claimed it was pre-1974 Turkish property. Now either all the land was owned by the TCs pre-74 in the North or someone is not being entirely honest.

I read that the cameras are not only speed cameras but also red light, no belts and use of mobile phone while driving

any way getting back to the orginal question, IS ikea opening in Cyprus and WHERE is it opening?

ps in the UK we have a device called Road Angel which has the GPS positions of all the speed cameras in the UK, i think they have them in Australia also. We will now need them in Cyprus by the sounds of it.

No point in having a road angel in Aus. There are camera's everywhere (basically every second corner). Laser Gundetectors are the go - for highways at least.
