Hugh janus wrote:Hi - I'm new here, found my way in via Google, doing a search for Ikea & North Cyprus.

I am buying an apartment in Kyrenia which should be ready in Feb 2006 and obviousley I need to furnish it - hence my search for Ikea.

Can anyone tell me when the Ikea will be open - and also if it is possible to transport furniture through the border from south to north ?

Thanks

North cyprus is illegally held territory , held by force and you know it. You will probably be buying property belonging to someone else and you stand the chance to lose it. I hope you do if you proceed.

On the other hand if this is a wind up, i don't think it funny and i don't a rats arse what anyone else says.

How this forum can allow such posts and not to mention the advertising for north cyprus real estate is beyond me. I sick to death about having to play the good guy and continuously get shafted by turkey, britain and even the god damn americans.

So hugh janus (big arse hole in laymans terms) don't even think about it.

Thanks sweetheart !

As I've bought on "genuine" Turkish land I haven't got a problem. I am however thinking of a further Dinar of Exchange land in the near future.

My question was genuine BTW !

And if your response was typical of Greek Cypriots, then I think I've bought in the better, more friendly end of Cyprus.

You'd think the Greeks were angels !

Hugh janus, not all of us in the South are quite as rude as that. Welcome to the forums and welcome to Cyprus.

I too am interested to know what "Dinar of Exchange" is?

RE:- Speed Cameras. Does anyone know what make of cameras they are installing, or which country they have bought them from? There are some cameras (Think it was in Australia) where if you light a small fire in front of the camera (or was it behind?) It sets the camera off, flashing like a strobe light.

Check your personal messeges Hugh. I sent you a PM.

Could dinar be "donum"? Cause as far as I know, dinar is a term for currency.

Thanks for the message. I was unable to respond as it said it was temporarily out of order - the website address you left on the message didn't work BTW.

A donum is 1338m2 of land; I believe 'scala' is the TC version of the word.

Lana,

just to be clear, what language do you refer to, the insult to Hugh Janus or the the fact that accused you og gaining from advertising north cyprus properties ?

I am sorry about the insult to all the fellow forum users (hugh excepted), but i am not about the other.

I don't expect you to let this post through as it does nothing for you and the forum, but at least you will get to see how angry i am about this whole cyprus issue. I take it you haven't lost family in the conflict otherwise your views maybe very different.

Anyhow, i will let this subject rest.

Pantheman.
