The organisers write of a change of the Larnaca meeting place to the parking at Makenzie.

They also write to assure that there will be escorts on "both sides"...

The police has just come in contact with me, finally, and we had a long meeting today. They have approved our request to have police escort, thank God. Better late than never.

Also, we have an answer from the north side police as well, they too will be escorting us on the north side, which I know was a big concern for most bikers.

This means that we will be escorted by the police throughout the whole ride. So any concerns anyone had regarding their safety or even the legitimacy of this whole even can now be thrown out the window. Welcome to the first "official" Great Bike Ride Around Cyprus.

Also, the police of Larnaca has requested us to change the meeting point. Instead of meeting in the sea front area (Finikoudes, Hobbos) we will meet at the parking in Makenze at 10:00am.

Please make sure that you will be on time at the meeting places. This is even more important now, because of the police escort.

Please read all the rules of the trip and stick to them, we want us to have a safe and fun time.

Finally, we want this event to be as pleasant as possible. Myself, and I expect all of you, will be at our very best behavior, we, as a group should not tolerate any immature, dangerous or provocative behavior from anyone in the group. We have to be our own police and make sure we give a good example of what a ride must be.

Regretfully the Illegal Regime refused to allow the bikers in to the Occupied Areas.

One of the bikers writes...

It is with great regret to announce that the Turkish-Cypriot customs authorities located at the boarders of Limnitis checkpoint have refused entry to us (the bikers), to the North Side of Cyprus. No reason was given for their refusal. Soon I will post the video showing the conversation that followed between the bikers of the event and the Turkish-Cypriot authorities at the checkpoint of Limnitis.

...it is a good idea, witness the fact that they got the escort they requested from the Police originally; unfortunately vetted, men on the ground agreed.
