VP obviously hasn't received instructions from his/her/its masters on how to respond to to this story yet.

Both the RoC and Israel officially denied any such plan or agreement. It looks like the Turks are having nightmares again or they did it just to reinforce the impression of an escalating tension in the area due to the energy and military cooperation agreements between the RoC and Israel. And not to forget that our presidency is coming up as well. Right?

File... posted this earlier, elsewhere...

Everything that we have seen and heard from Turkey is an organised campaign to create a situation, to give the impression of a conflict in CY waters that Turkey will argue can only be resolved by recourse to some kind of International Mediation that conflicts with the normal rules of the Convention on the Law of the Sea. An attempt to thieve CY's natural resources through a dodgy negotiation. All we have seen going back for months, the Piri Reis "exploration", the Illegal Drilling in Occupied Famagusta, the daily war-mongering threats from Turkish leaders, rubbish about 20,000 commandos, etc etc are geared towards this.

...and if Netanyahu made such an offer, it only expresses his earnestness, stressing the importance of this project to him and Israel. it is an interesting offer, and yet no Person for their Liberty would choose it, it is kindly said privately if it ever was made and diplomatically speaking. the news sources for this story are slim nor are they derived from direct sources, as fantasy they serve the forces still interested in plunder as a game where winners can take all, and appeasement rewards with tribute.

...bigger and bigger these threats will grow as Erdogan nears election with the Turkish people whipped into a frenzy ready to explode. we hope that as war it will not occur by proxy so violently again on this island for the interlocutors' benefit.

however, in these times when Turkey, a most powerful country has a leader who is a bully, it is assuring that a countervailing power is as troublesome, what with their airplanes and all..

...and with Russia, England, and America also as allies; popcorn?

A spokesperson from the Israel Foreign Ministry refuted an Anatolia news agency report which said the Israeli president has requested permission to deploy at least 20,000 soldiers to Greek Cyprus in exchange for building a gas terminal on the island.

“The illusionary claims are baseless and out of touch with reality. Israel does not in the present, nor has it ever, posted its troops on foreign soil. One must question the motives and goals of persons propagating this outrageous lie,” the spokesperson of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

This is not the first or the last Turkish lie, unfortunately. Turkeys reality and the average Turkish opinion is based on misinformation and lies.
