Mr Sarris on BBC hardtalk

Postby chedda » Thu May 17, 2012 11:32 pm

I just watched Mr Sarris on BBC hardtalk (BBC world), it seems the contagion is spreading from Greece. An interesting program i recommend it to those who are interested. I believe it will be repeated, or for those who know how to get iplayer here will be available tomorrow at some point.

In the eye of a financial storm, a mountain of banking debt, a weak government, an angry public, could cyprus be the next domino to fall in this crisis ?

Thanks, but if this is the same Mr Sarris who was arrested in the illegal occupied with a rent boy, I'm not sure I can accept anything he says. His credibility is smashed.

Your bank is facing an immediate crisis...... where are you going to get the capital from ? Who would want to invest in your bank today ?

Keep in mind that the whole ethos of this programme is based on direct and even confrontational questioning, that said, I was impressed by the frank and informative responses from Sarris.
He handled the interview very well and did not seem to dodge any questions, with answers that neither understated or exaggerated the risks posed by any " meltdown in greece" to his bank or the Cypriot economy as a whole.
I don't know about his past , however, he came across as credible, educated and sincere ........... It's worth a watch.
