"Cyprus itself is Greek!" - British view.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I do wonder why there are Greek flags flying everywhere though ??

No one has actually shown that the island was Greek, they want to think it was Greek but at no time throughout history was the island owned by the Greeks.

Since you have a slave mentality, you may have to define "owned" for us.

- We're used to a some freedom to "own" ourselves within the Greek world.

.... which was formed after 1829...... my post said. But it was always part of the Greek world while it was under Greek rule during the empire of Alexander the Great and of the Hellenistic kingdoms and then of the Byzantine empire. The Turkish conquest lasted for just about 300 years and came 2,800 years after the colonisation of the island by the Greeks. Simple enough even for you to understand, I believe?

Of course the British say Cyprus is Greek, because by pigeon holing Cypriots into Greek and Turk serves their divide and conquer tactic which is in operation today.

They know that as long as no solution can be found, they can sit on the fence whilst the Cypriots squabble amongst themselves in petty disagreements and keep the SBA indefinately.

Stating that Cyprus is Greek is making an observation of a fact - as 85% of the population of Cyprus, or 100% of the native population, would tell you. That doesn't immediately justify any opposite claims by Turkey. How you can immediately jump to such conclusions beggars belief. I agree that the status quo may suit some, but to allow ourselves to lose our identity, to alter the situation, is entirely what Turkey would want. It was denying that Cyprus is Greek, which made Turks think they could jump in, which caused the problem in the first place. The Turks have admitted it's Greek - which is why they wanted to swap it for some other more suitable Greek islands.

Nonsense

The British have always supported what STU and the neo Cypriots and the fifth column are supporting, i.e., that the Greek Cypriots are not Greek and that Cyprus was never Greek.

Boomerang...I haven't read the majority of your 6580 posts - nor do I intend to - but I can guess that they're all full of crap. Probably post number 6581 is going to be, so I can only assume the next 6580 will be, too. [Tut].

The other 15% are probably native too, and they are certainly legally citizens .
