Holitec Broadband

Postby skyvet » Tue May 15, 2012 10:59 am

I would like to seek advice from anyone living in the western end of the island who has subscribed to the Holitec broadband service, which apparently is currently only available already in the Paphos area, but expected to go island-wide in the near future.

If you are a subscriber, would you please give me your opinion of the service, particularly with regard to value for money and reliability.

For the benefit of anyone who hasn't heard of it, and would like to find out more, their web address is http://www.holitec.eu.

Thanks

I use DSS (based in Konia) which is a similar company to Holitec but tends to cover the Eastern side of Paphos wereas Holitec tend to cover the north area (Pegia, Tala). When I initially approached Holitec they couldn't provide a signal for the area I live in so then I tried DSS. I find the system itself is pretty reliable though a bit more expensive than Cyta plus you have the set up costs. One advantage is that you can have the system turned on and off by both providers which saves money if you do not live here permanently. I only have this system because of the remoteness of our property from the nearest Cyta supply and would choose Cyta if it was available.
