In any debate the participants should respect the other participants, whether they like them or not and should avoid insulting each other. And the presenters should protect all of them, equally, from insults and abuse. If you watch the video from the beginning you will hear the Woman next to him (Lian Kanelli, communist party MP) calling Crysi Avgi "fascist faces" (fasistaria) without provocation. He returned the compliment calling her a dirty commy (paliokommuni) but she took that quite ...bravely. Then the woman in red (Dourou, Tsipras party) addresses him and asks him mockingly if the criminal trial against him for assault, which was on that day, had been postponed. He answers "yes the trial to which a ruffian of your party is dragging me was postponed due to elapse of time" (courts stop at 15.00 in Greece) and he asks the presenter to permit him to explain what the trial is all about as this personal issue of his was brought up on tv. The woman in red continues her verbal assault telling him that the problem in Greece is not only the economy but also democracy because people like him were elected in parliament and they are going to bring it 500 years backwards. At that moment he stands up, ... treats her to some water, calls her a clown (noumero) and prepares to take off the microphone in order to walk out as he had done a few days back in another tv debate. At that moment Kanelli stands up, smacks him with the news paper in the face and tells him "get out of here re...". He pushes her away and she starts coming back at him. The rest you know.
My estimate. A new page opens in regard to tv debates in Greece. Participants will think twice from now on before abusing verbally other participants. And the organizers and coordinators will stop tolerating and even provoking such abuses for the sake of popularity of their programs.

Mind we had John Prescott!

He is not a "leader". Unlike John Prescott, this chap is not a member of the government - so your feigned concern for the people of Greece is unnecessary. I'm just disappointed the lady smiled after she had the water thrown in her face. Either she was grateful, if the weather was particulalry hot, or she fancied the guy and wanted some reaction ....
