Can Greek Cypriot travel to Turkey on RoC passports?

After all, Turkey does not recognise the RoC, so are these GCs using passports from another country, in which case, they would be considered nationals from another country, even if they are GCs born in Cyprus!

Yes. They get visa at the Turkish airport for 15 Euros.

You give them 15 more, and they sing the RoC national anthem. 8)

Perhaps the TC's realise that they can get better deals and more selection they realise that what happened 35 years ago is in the past and the opportunities to be involved in a free society is there and accessible to them.

Thanks Pyro and CBBB.

The British passport holders pay £10 pounds. The American Passport holders pay $45 USD.

When I was asked to pay $45 USD for a visa at the airport in Istanbul a while back, because I presented them an American Passport, I asked them why it was so much money for a visa which the response was, "what do you mean so much money" as if to say, "pay up and shut up fool". Then I asked them how much they charged for the British passport holders and the response was £10 pounds, so I took back the American passport and gave them the British one. I think that was the first for this officer with the look on his face, to see what I did to save some money. Next time I'll bring my RoC passport also for extra fun.

...humanist, you can travel and not support the violation of Human Rights, you can have a good reason in promoting dialog and exchange, you can seek out like minded people and refrain from the so called luxury estates or its corruption, this is far more important than you think, such acts. remember that together we are Cypriots, with our votes there is a day of reckoning, we need to demonstrate that beside being of a Grecophone or Turcophone origin, our closeness is to the beauty with which Cypriots identify, with each other we exchange and we have this dialog. i would not judge kiks badly, nor any other who has this courage, as i said to vp the other day, stay warm dude.

I have family members living in Turkey, Humanist, which means I need to travel there once in a while to see them since most Turks can't afford to travel outside Turkey and even if they could, they need to jump through hoops just to get a visa to travel to that country. Even the so called financially well off families of middle class in Turkey cannot afford to travel abroad, even if they didn't need a visa. Most Turks only earn enough money to keep their heads above the water, let alone travel abroad to Europe or elsewhere.

It is also important to separate the average Turk from the policies of their government. This is the same all over. When ever I'm in Turkey, I often bring up the Cyprus issues with the locals. Some see things my way and some see it through their nationalist way, but in the end, it is those in the government who have the last word on Turkey's foreign policies. Most Turks are very hard working family oriented people who are trying to raise their families the best they can. If most Turks wanted to support the "trnc", they would take their holidays in the "trnc" to help bring up the economy in the occupied areas. They take their holidays in Turkey instead. This must tell you something!
