When you and the rest stop thinking of us as Turks and ottoman remnants and accept us as Cypriots just like yourself then we will have peace and live like gardash.

Cypriots do want to live side by side in harmony as equals.

Unfortunately it's the Turkish minority on the island that is demanding special priviledges, which one could argue is a throwback to the Ottoman era.

Equal cypriots yes, equal rights yes, but depends what you mean by this. ie, if you have a vote then I need 5 of me to vote?? Or you can move, buy and live freely in the south, but I cannot do the same in the north?? Like we have to have a free vote for selecting government officials but you can have a guaranteed amount no matter what. Like you have a veto to stop anything you don't like.

So, until you can define what this 'Equal' bit means then I don't know if I can agree to anything. Does that make sense gardash?

When stationed in Cyprus in the mid 60s you weren't aware when you went from the GC area into the TC area of Limassol, our band regularly gigged at the Istanbul Bar in the Turkish district. GC taxi drivers had no problem picking nup and dropping off fares there.

OK Gardash, I'll keep it simple. RoC = EU. 800,000 against millions and yet able to hold the whole of the EU to ransom. Our population may be less than yours but that doesn't make us lesser beings. Our constitution dictates this.

Hardly a valid comparison, Cyprus has two principle communities whereas the EU has 27 member States that have equal status in the Council of the EU but not in the Parliament where membership is determined by the size of population. Besides most legislation has to be agreed by both Council and Parliament.

As for "holding to ransom", I reckon Turkey is using its military to hold the ROC to ransom because of its importance to NATO and the USA.

Thats what i expected an empty reply, you have just confirmed to me at least, that your def of 'Equal' is exactly as I stated, and you are calling us intransegent. At least my point has been proven. All GCs reading this should be ware. I wonder if Bananiot has a definition for us???
