Greece-Cyprus-Israel undersea cable is announced

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Spartan wannabe incorrigible fools…

History repeatedly teaches us that any collaboration/cooperation with Greece ends in catastrophe.

My question is… is Israel aware of this curse?

Yes, what is it with all these conveyor projects...

... OK, this one is ambitious but doable... BUT WHY...??? where's the reasoning...???

Are here huge surpluses of electricity generation in GR, CY or IL to move around...???...!!!

If we can't see the reasoning behind these ambitious schemes ... then shouldn't we judge that it's rubbish...???

... and the other thing that has to be said and said in a FFS sort of way...!!! They can't even get a roll-on-roll-off car ferry GR>CY>IL going again.

The idea is that Cyprus acts as a bridge between Israel and Greece/Western Europe to sell the Israel Energy Corporation’s excess electricity production to Cyprus or any other buyer further west. Of course, if Cyprus has any excess it could also export it.

The first cable would link Israel to Cyprus. Then Cyprus to Crete and on to the Peloponnese, Greece and Western Europe.

According to the MoU signed yesterday the schedule is to be completed by 2016. Not too long to go then...

* Stages 1 and 2 to cost EUR 3.5 bln, fully funded by EuroAsia Interconnector *

The biggest investment in Cyprus is finally taking shape as the final and comprehensive investment dossier has been submitted in Nicosia for the first electricity interconnection license that will provide a secure and stable supply of energy between Israel, Cyprus and Greece.

http://www.financialmirror.com/news-det ... ?nid=34958

The project, promoted by the EuroAsia Interconnector in cooperation with the national utilities of the three countries, will also end the energy isolation of these ‘island’ states, that although are part of the regional and global economies, have remained detached from continental electricity grids.
The cost, estimated at EUR 3.5 bln, will be fully funded by the project promoter, while the economic benefits to all three countries will be threefold of that amount, with great opportunities for friendship and prosperity.
