It is you who makes sweeping statements when you criticise all those who disagree with you as ‘fascist’. You do not have a monopoly of anti-fascism. The death of fellow Cypriots at the hands of Denktash and his brutal accomplices in Turkey and the TMT are a time for all Cypriots who oppose Turkey's partitionist policies in Cyprus to unite. It is not an occasion for cheap political point scoring or casting aspersions on those who reject your views on past events.

TURKISH CYPRIOT civil society will tomorrow mark the death of two lawyers killed in 1962 during a period of heightened tension.
..............
Turkish Cypriot daily Afrika yesterday wrote that their murders may officially be considered “unsolved” but everyone in the north knows who their killers are.

Another daily Kibrisli reported that the two lawyers were killed after publishing many articles on a bomb placed at the Omeriye Mosque in Nicosia between March 24 and 25, 1962.

According to the paper, the bomb was an attempt to deteriorate relations between the two communities on the island by placing blame for the attack on Greek Cypriots. Before the assassination of the two lawyers, Cumhuriyet had published an article saying it would soon reveal the names of those who attacked the mosque.

Here is recent a post from hlil

REACTION TO MOSQUE VANDALIZM

The Köprülü Hacı İbrahim Ağa Mosque located in Limassol has been the recent target of Greek Cypriot fanaticism.

Reactions are growing in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, after a group of young Greek Cypriot fanatics vandalized the mosque- another proof that Cyprus Turkish existence and values aren’t being respected in South Cyprus.
In his reaction to the latest example of Greek Cypriot fanaticism, President Derviş Eroğlu said that the attack has come as another proof to the Greek Cypriot mentality which had no respect towards Muslims and the Cyprus Turkish People.
“This isn’t a first. They had burned our mosques and killed our people while they were worshipping” he said.

Does anyone suspect the two incidents have any relation or resemblance whatsoever? Naaaaah

You don't for a minute believe the bullshit you write, Viewpoint. Will you be attending the service in their memory? Go on, surprise me. If you actually think these men were victims of Greek Cypriots can you tell me why you aren't going? Or why Eroglu and his ministers won't be attending? Or why any Turkish generals or officials won't be going? We know the answer so don’t bother. You really are a sad case.

Come on, VP. If you think these men were really victims of Greek Cypriots why aren't you going to their memorial service? Why aren't Eroglu and his ministers attending? Why aren't any Turkish generals or officials going? You know the answer. But you can't say it.

What difference would it make if you knew if i am attending or not? if it were for your selfish desire to give away our island these people would never have been caught in the cross fire.

"caught in the cross-fire"... !!!! What a loada pollocks VP, these poor guys we not caught in "crossfire",

They were deliberately targeted. They were singled out in a deliberate action by the TMT/Volkan terrorists, predecessors to the present Illegal regime, for their political views and friendships... and as a warning and examples to others.

"caught in the cross-fire" ... My bum!

He didn't say that. He indirectly admitted that TMT murdered them but he blames.....the GCs for that and the EOKA struggle for enosis. Try to follow his reasoning:
1. TMT started attacking the Greek Cypriots as counter action to the struggle for enosis.
2. The two lawyers were condemning TMT for doing that.
The TMT shoots them dead, so WE are to blame for that.
Right VP? Is that, more or less, how the TMT news paper "VOLCAN" explains things?
