The rights of 70 million Trs & illegal rights of 700.000

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Viewpoint » Thu Sep 29, 2005 11:43 am

RAFAELLA sorry for the delay I didnt pick up on your answers until today.

What would you do if you were a Gc and you had this plan presented in front of you for a solution. Well? What would you vote? Yes or No

I would have been in the scared and harrassed 24% Yes vote to give a United Cyprus a chance but I would not tell the OXI voters.

didn't know that such a tiny rock in the Mediterranean can hold as hostage the EU, but if it did according to it's size as you mention, then it has b****.

Was referring to Greece.

Services are already provided and I bet you are a holder of a CyR/EU passport .

No I do not, but if you claim to respresent all Cypriots then you have to give out thses passports you have no choice, try stopping them if you have the balls.

There was a Coup, Turkey invated with the excuse to... save the Tcs, why TR's still here with 40.000 troops? The Coup still goes on?
The plan was rejected for the known reasons. It's about time to stop chewing it, swollow it.

Swallowed that on the evening of the referendum after the results, it GCs who keep regurgitating reasons that only they believe as excuses. Whats important is the future and what happens now.
40.000 troops to protect us against you guys man I would be insulted if I were in your shoes but seriously they will leave once we reach a solution.

I wouldn't mind being part of Greece as long as there was no occupation of my country by TR, no violation of human rights, free movement etc.
"TRNC" can rant and rave for recognition as much as she likes, the thing is that nobody listens.
Solution can only be achieved through UN resolutions, ECHR decisions and EU principles etc.

So why not disolve the "RoC" and be swallowed up by Greece?

TRNC will continue on as it is.

We do not force for recognition, CyR is already recognised not only by EU members but by the whole world except the -we are always right, we know everything- TR.
TR has an obligation to recognize Cyprus Republic and this is something that EU officials state every day.

Southern CYprus can be recognized by whoever you want, Turkey and the TRNC do not formally reconize the "RoC" until a solution is found, its our right no one can force us to do anything (other than war).

You can feel whatever you like. The 76% of Gcs don't try to convince themselves that they did the right thing - they did the right thing at the right time. No need to wonder either, there will be another opportunity and if it's a fair solution then Gcs have no reason to reject it.
As the EU counterdeclaration says: "In the context of this declaration, the European Community and its Member States agree on the importance of supporting the efforts of the UN Secretary General to bring about a comprehensive settlement of the Cyprus problem in line with relevant UN resolutions and the principles on which the EU is founded, and that a just and lasting settlement will contribute to peace, stability and harmonious relations in the region."

Bring it on, you talk of another opportunity, you are being very optimistic imo, your leader is play EU leverage game not UN solution seeker.

If the rejection of the plan, which Tcs should expected, was a slap in the face for them then you can imagine what that plan itself was for the Gcs, who thank Jesus, rejected it.

Denktas senior also thanked god the GC rejected the Annan plan.

"Protect" you from what? In the past 31 years of the Turkish occupation, the only murders committed were by Turkish forces against UNARMED GC civilians. ON A PER CAPITA BASIS OF THE COUNTRY IN WHICH THEY OCCUPY, TURKEY HAS MORE TROOPS IN CYPRUS THAN THE US HAS IN IRAQ. THE ANGLO/AMERICAN SH**HEADS EXPECT THE GCS TO "NEGOTIATE" WITH THE TURKISH GUNS POINTED AT THEIR HEADS. THE AMERICANS AND ENGLISH CAN GO TO HELL.

BEFORE ANY SERIOUS NEGOTIATIONS RESUME, TURKISH TROOPS MUST BE WITHDRAWN.

Wouldnt bet any money on that, they have been here 31 years and at this rate they will be here another 131 years.

The magnitude of the Turkish troops on the island is a very strong deterrant for GCs who would otherwise contemplate or attempt vegence and repraisals against our community. Obviously from your comments which its working.

If Turkey truly harbors any hope of joining the EU, then its troops will be gone in less than 10 years. Otherwise, the accession talks will come to an end by veto (and NOT necessarily by the ROC or Greece.)

I propose that the island should be demilitarized as a first step in seeking a solution. ALL Turkish and Greek troops should be withdrawn. The GC National Guard and the TC counterpart should be completely disarmed. Foreign peacekeeping troops should be increased and the cost of keeping them in Cyprus should be paid for by BOTH the Greek and Turkish sides.

I agree totally that a united Cyprus should be totally demilitarized but where we disagree is the timing, you require this before we start any negotiations whereas I believe it should be part of the overall package but on a shorter timescale to address GC concerns. Think of it this way, would you accept allowing direct trade before we agree an overall solution??
The army has in effect worked as deterrant for any further attempts at using force to try and solve matters which imo would have meant the loss of manymore innocent Cypriot lives. Is this what you would have preferred??

Do not worry Viewpoint; keep the Turkish Army another 30 years if you like or until Talat’s appetite for a compromise is energized! Keep our properties as a hostage another 30 years, no problem at all! Loizidou got upon ECHR’s order, one million Euros of compensation for one house and one plot that she was not allowed to use for 20 years. I wonder how much more I and the other 2,000 cases will get from this court for much more property and much more time of Turkish deprivation of use. My case will begin to be examined in three years; therefore in maximum five years I will pocket maybe 10 million Euros. When your appetite for a solution is good then I take my property then. I can wait as long as it takes. After all with 10 million Euros I will be enjoying my life like a king.

Let’s figure out how much Turkey will have to pay, assuming that there are no more cases and only 2,000 pending ones and each case gets on the average 5 million Euros. This makes us 10,000,000,000 Euros.
Ten billion Euros Viewpoint!
My Goodness… Turkey will have to even sell their shirts to find this money!

Viewpoint, please keep the Turkish troops longer. We do not want them to live. Keep also our properties as hostage; we do not mind it at all. Every extra year that the troops remain, I gain 330,000 Euros of compensation without doing anything. Please keep them and I will buy you as a present a buetifull house in Pafos to come for holidays and enjoy the most beautiful sunset of Cyprus and also drink champagne together to the health of Mama Turkey and her troops.

Please do not let them go and you will have many presents from me!

OK

No problem here, its your right to go persue compensation which you so rightly deserve, but returning is another ball game and until you can be flexible and show genuine desire for a comprehensive solution, then Good luck.

Ill enjoy my cocktails over looking Kyrenia Harbour as you know the Jewel in the crown...and we will all live happy ever after.
