This time the Apartheid Junta are trying to restrict the use by CYs of their Passports for free movement within the EU and the other entitlements that come with them. One result of the Restrictions will be to force some CYs to use the Illegal Airport at Occupied Tymbou.

Billy, this is to be expected and the closer we get to the 1st July, the more we will see.
And this is a candidate country for the EU, discriminating against its own people, then what chance does anyone else have??

Could it be a trick of the Terrorist Regime of North Cyprus to force indigenous TCs to move massively to the south (Cypriot refugee wave No 2) and let the north clear to the Anatolians? i.e., another ethnic cleansing of the north from its indigenous inhabitants? Second refugee wave to the South after 1974?

This is a battle between the North and South which comes down to wanting to increase thier respective populations, on paper ... with the purpose of using these numbers as a negotiating tool over the distribution of land.

To try and represent both sides of the arguement, recently the South has rejected use of the TC kimlik card to cross the border.

The transfer of populations into occupied territories is illegal under international law.

Me Ed - that entire assumption is up for debate as you know. RoC govt should never have been recognised without any TC representation. Many believe Turkey was right to intervene as a guarantor power, etc etc etc.

Lordo - many TC's in the North also have British passports. By forcing them to use their British passports instead of TRNC kimlik cards as ID, the numbers can be manipulated to look as though there are less TC citizens living in the North.
