Clerides was 'their man'

On the same day in a separate note the Foreign Office records the following:

" Building up Mr. Clerides. The chances of a radical settlement in Cyprus depend on having Clerides rather than Makarios at Stage III. The Secretary of State has already embarrassed Makarios by moving him towards stating his terms before we resume in Geneva' this line could perhaps be developed to Clerides' benefit. But there is not much we can do about this. The danger of a declaration of enosis was greatest on 14 August; we should take no preventive action against this unless we have some indication that it is contemplated. We do not want to suggest that ideas of this kind are current, given the assurances of the Greeks and the Greek Cypriots at Geneva. We must also encourage the Greeks to continue to help Clerides by removing undesirable Greek influences from Cyprus. We must do what we can to discourage reprisals against the Turkish Cypriot community outside the Turkish zone... We should stick to the Secretary of State's line that the Turks have a case even though their methods are regrettable.

Right, I see where you are coming from. Now Klerides is a Tourkosporos ... that's a big fish you have caught.

If you didn't I will apologise. Link me to your post.

......the Brits obviously had something under their sleeve to force Makarios to agree. Perhaps you think it had something to do with Makarios being a krypto homosexual as it was suggested in another thread .........

Lets see now. You have to make up your mind whether card under the sleeve was that:
1. They knew were Grivas was hiding in 1957 (or 1959 although otherwise reported the MI5 agent quoted above by boomerang) or
2. Card under the sleeve was that Grivas had lost the support of the Greek Cypriots or
3. Card under the sleeve was that they knew that Makarios was a crypto homo (this one is brand new and fresh and just fell at your feet today like manna from heaven). And you want me to ask for evidences about it do you?
Tragic. And to know that people like you "educate" our youth. Tragic.
P.S. The only "card under the sleeve" which you know they had and you don't want to admit for obvious reasons, was the threat of the partition of the island which both Makarios and Karamanlis bought like the bloody idiots they were.

So, let us see:

Makarios is an idiot. Karamanlis is an idiot. Klerides is a British agent.
What else are you going to tell us? I think I have been talking to the biggest fool around. This makes me a bigger fool, someone might argue.

I admit to this.

Why is that a pre-requisite to answering a question? Are you planning to exterminate anybody who objects to the Turkish plans for Cyprus?

Stop trying to avoid the questions Bananiot:

Would the Annan plan officially create a Turkish State in the north part of Cyprus, yes or no?

Is collaborating with foreign invaders and accepting their racist terms which go against the human rights of the majority of the population something that can be excused by claiming that this is the only "feasible" thing to do?

Just answer the questions:
