What personal website? Gives us the link.

Good morning all!

Sotos, I'm not sure you are being reasonsble by discrediting a Cypriot governent census. It is a little far fetched to suggest a conspiracy theory that all the TC's got together in the 60's and conspired to rig the census.

One explanation as to why TC's had proportionately more land is because the majority were farmers. It's not necessarily more valuable land, and to this day much of it remains agricultural land that cannot be highly developed. Higher land ownership back then did not necessarily mean the TC's were wealthier.

B25, Greek Island Girl posted the link - ask her! Or look through the threads. Lazy!

Who on earth is the stud by the way? You guys love your conspiracy theories.

Can one of quote the Land Registry directly, I haven't yet seen a link or source, and I'm interested to know which year you are taking your figures from.

Thanks.

Sotos. Your google link shows a newspaper clipping from 1959. The Enosis movement began in the 1920's. Please see my sources posted above. Of course the TC's wanted partition by the 50's, they felt under threat! Perhaps the TC's realised what would happen with a joint government. How do you justify Makarios' underhand decision to go back on the agreed constitution and make 13 amendments in '62, effectively removing any protection the TC's had under the joint government?

Also, can you tell me more about the newspaper you refer to, 'The Free Lance Star'? It's not one I've heard of and I wonder if it was a regional/national paper etc. Just interested to know.

NO - You have already supplied a figure so you must have read it somewhere. Tell us where. There are many reliable sources and I am guessing you suspect now that your source was not reliable.

Here's an example of me giving you some information to discuss. I quote the following:

Greek Cypriots, Maronites, Armenains and Latin’s own more than 87% of the property in Cyprus whereas the Turkish Cypriots own less than 13%. The property owned by Greek Cypriot, Maronite, Armenain and Latin refugees from the occupied areas amounts of 33% of the islands territory whereas that of Turkish Cypriots is 5%. The value of the property owned by individual Greek, Maronite, Armenain and Latin Cypriots is on average 10 times the value of the property owned by individual Turkish Cypriots.

I then tell you my source, as follows:

http://www.argyrosargyrou.fsnet.co.uk/a ... e10-3a.htm

Now, feel free to discuss ....

I haven't said that. You are getting confused. I said it was the personal website of supporttheinderdog. as I said before, who on earth is stud?!

Supporttheunderdog supplied his letter to the Press Complaints Commission on the Telegraph thread. His letter is published on the Press Complaints Commission website, with the name of the author. The author of the letter has a website, the domain name of which is his full name.
