They might just get frustrated as to how long they are having to hold you for with their demands unmet. You on the other hand have characteristic symptoms of Stockholm Syndrome:

I can just see the TC dinner table discussions

smart/ non hatefull TC's : What ashame our leaders stuffed it up again we could be sharing the recognition, wealth and international respect, dealing with international companies and governments.
