I believe this is the same stance Greece takes on Cyprus. The FM is saying there would be a Cyprus QUESTION. He does not say 'Turkey would be there'.

The Turkish FM is expressing the sentiments of any country in the modern world. Do we not all try to keep our neighbours as allies and friends? Of course! Is the FM saying he wants to take over Cyprus? No! He is saying Turkey maintains an interest, as do Greece. Cyprus is too strategically placed for them not too. Even the British have a strategic interest and they are not even a neighbouring country!

If Turkey has plans to 'take' Cyprus, why have they done nothing with it for the last 30 years? For all intents and purposes, they have left the TC's be. They support them financially, and yes there are some Turkish mainland settlers. But what have they done post 1974 to the detriment of the GC's that concerns you so much?

May I also state that there are huge numbers of Greek mainlanders that have settlers in the South since '74. No one seems to mention this.

You CANNOT fault the RoC.. now!! The RoC is a model state, excluding the few environmental issues still on the agenda.. yes,granted!
