:? :? :?

Did Turkey become an EU member and still occupying northern part of Cyprus since I went to bed last night, because that will be the only way the RoC would lose her EU leverage over Turkey.

Another one of my predictions Turkey will never enter the Eu as a full member.

and because they gave turkey a date for face saving you actually think the europeans want the turks in the EU?... ...only a dumbass would have interpreted as such...and obviously quite frankly i don't think anyone is holding their breath...end of the day cyprus is the european tramp card for keeping turkey out and as much as she screams and shouts to join, she has been told on a number of occasions the EU road goes through nicosia, the RoC capital... ...the eu made sure that the north can never be annexed...the eu made sure the occupied is still the occupied...the eu made sure turkey starts paying restitutuions...the eu is screwing turkey and turkey goes back for more...

think vips, i know a major effort on your behalf, i could say an impossibility, but here we go anyway...before the RoC joined turkey didn't pay a cent, the orams were living the good life, you were making good money in handling stolen goods...but hey all this stopped and turkey is paying through the nose and only restitutions...we still own the land.. ...how come huh?...who is getting screwed huh?...all this possible by the RoC joining the EU...turkey didn't matter because she already had a custom union with the EU and cemented all this when she was given a date...

we had none of this before the RoC joined the EU...see, this is how much the europeans would like you to join...dummies don't come too often...

you called this a prediction?...it was a given...man another diluted and simple individual...

No! And you know why? Because it can not and IT NEVER WANTED to. Reason?

To become full member of the EU means it has to make all the democratic reforms which are a precondition for full membership. If it does (minority rights, religious rights, rights to the Kurds, democratisation of the society and of the legislation and of the penal laws etc) it will be dissolved to (at least) 3 different autonomous entities over night, just like Former Yugoslavia and the Former Soviet Union.

But not because Turkey doesn't want to, is because she can't.

Turkey is waiting for the EU to change it's primary laws to be the same as the one in Turkey first!

Once Turkey becomes a True Democracy with western ideology thinking leaders, and half of Turkey's present territories are given back to their rightful owners, the New Turkey will be ready to become a EU member and great place to live. Until then, Turkey is and nothing but a turkey!

the turks haven't figured out as to why cyprus was in a record time and turkey while applied when?...they cannot understand to get in you need to solve cyprus...if turkey solves cyprus in a european way then turkey is in the next day...

lets face it turkey has been squirming since she got in...the latest the oil...payments, convictions etc...still the land belongs to the original owner...before the RoC joined none of that was happening...even NATO is suffering because of the turks...

How very true. That is why, in fact, what they always really wanted but never admitted, is a "special relationship" i.e., equality in the political and economical fora and the mechanisms of the EU, but to be left alone as far as democratisation and foreign relations (including Cyprus) are concerned. In exchange, Turkey will resign from the EU benefits and regulations related to the freedom of movement, establishment and employment of Turkish citizens within the EU.

Because this is the situation WE should always say No the its accession or even YES by all means, provided that it will be a FULL accession further to complete compliance to all EU regulations and to the acquis but not a special relation (which Germany wishes).

Germany and some other members would be just too happy to have Turkey in under the above special relationship but they would never grant to her full accession. That is why we (Cyprus and Greece) should always insist that we would only approve full accession provided ALL PRECONDITIONS were previously fulfilled, knowing that they will never be. Consequently, we should make it clear that we will veto any special status.

greece lost favour with the EU the day greece started the reaproachment with turkey...the europeans knew right and then they needed some one else in a hurry...there enters cyprus...and for the service the europeans rewardered us handsomely...the europeans actually spoiled us...
let's look at the reaped rewards, something even greece wouldn't and couldn't dream ina 1000 years...
1...the whole of cyprus is EU territory...no annexation, and settlers one day could pose a problem for turkeyy...considered by the EU illegals, under EU law...
2...turkey having to pay restititions...and the land still belongs to the origanal owner...this is a gift from turkey, but without love...
3...it stopped the unlawful selling of properties...collapsed their pseudo flogging stolen goods economy...
4...to some extend the north is accountable to the EU...
5...the gas/oil...eu territtory established and turkey was told to buzz off...
6...UN plans come and go but now we have EU aquis on our side which doesn't come and go...eu backing in a solution...the rule of law will apply immediately
7...the presidency...just so the turks know we can exert power....so they whine...and whine...and squirm...actually the whinning and squirming hasn't stopped...
and more
all these were imposibilities before the RoC became a member...

now someone tell me all this wasn't pre planned by the europeans...greece should be dropped like a bag of shit because today she became a drag on the eu and her signifigance in this forum is exacurated to the max...the real decision and power holders are the northern europeans...stick with them i say...the roc should be the only economy in southern europe that should shine as much as the northern europeans...this is what the roc government should be striving for...they, the northern europeans, are the ones that count...actually they are the union...

greece will understand...
1...it's looking after number 1
2...the boomerang effect...what goes around comes around...

Are you on the same planet as us? Turkey hasnt paid anything ho no I think they paid that ugly cow loizidou a paupers pittance, all your victories are on paper destined to stay that way. You will never get the north back and you know it, the only way you will get close is through winning the TCs over and that means understanding that you have to share equally with TCs, you cannot dominate or control the whole island as you wish.

Have you gotten one Turkish soldier or new generation TC to leave? or just one inch of land back? you are further away from a solution than you have ever been, time to wake up and smell the TURKISHHHHHHH coffee.
