Every EU member is obliged to assume the role of the EU Presidency. So why is Turkey so upset about this? Why has Turkey threatened to freeze relations with the EU over the Cypriot Presidency? Why is Turkey making a fuss about this?

German EU presidency = no change

one would expect Turkey's congatulatory tone, given that she looks forward to leading the EU one day...

And what's the difference?? Is he any better than, lets say Chiler (as far as Cyprus is concerned)? The aims of Turkey in regard to Cyprus have been the same since Mustafa Kemal was in power. Annexation of the whole island to Turkey.
