How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

One the EU grants/projcts pays for the upkeep of the 800 year old olive trees in the North - the oldest olive trees in Cyprus. We visited them on our recent trip, it's an area of great beauty.

I am doutbtful that Turkey will ever enter the EU however.

I'm sure they are very grateful to you all.

It would be a shame to give them up !!!

Yes, thank you for confirming the scrounging type turkey is. We all know that, but its just crumbs. Hey, we might even throw her a bone (up the a*se :)) if she behaves.

Those who accept EU grants are scroungers. Right, on that basis, what does that make Greece and South Cyprus who are bankrupt and holding enourmous national debt respectively. Has the EU not bailed you out?

It doesn't work like that because Greece and the Repulic of Cyprus are in the EU.

However, when money is sent to countries outside of the EU, then yes, this is aid.

Simply stating that Greece and South Cyprus would be in serious trouble without EU funding.

Do you know what some of the EU grants have been awarded for, other than the preservation of the 800 yr old olive trees that I mentioned above?

I think that someone needs to throw S.Cyprus a bone in June when your banks start seeking bailouts.

Be a good boy and stop your personal attacks.

Let's all hope that the British allow you to use Curium for your opening ceremony .

Can't help it with some plonkers on here, oops here I go again.

And what's this about Curium for what ceremony? Would that be when the Brits hand over the 'SBA' to the legal government of Cyprus by any chance??
