TALAT: “GREEK CYPRIOTS THINK OTHER PEOPLE ARE STUPID”

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Kimon refers to halil as "mongol". This is the way fascists in Cyprus and abroad talk about Turks. Humanist, do you really think these bastards will liberate Cyprus? They brought calamity to Cyprus with their fascist acts and you expect them to liberate us?

Both Kimon and Halil are sad victims of their alleged "motherlands".

Kimon makes no secret that he is a delude Greek, but Halil is sly because on the one hand he portrays himself as a peacemaker, and on the other hand he promotes Turkish propaganda - note the assumption that the mosque was burnt down by Cypriots without a single shread of evidence.

The question is, what do YOU actually stand for?

Before 1974, before 1963, before 1955, these same people used to call Turkish Cypriots "dogs". May be they decided to start acting like dogs, just like Diogenis ... I suppose you know how the story goes.

Bananiot, I don't expect the British to liberate Cyprus and I am with you. I think it was in their interests to sabotage the new found freedom of cyprus . What I did say is that even the british being supporters of the "trnc". Have not really supported any moves towards recognition of the trnc and nor have they strongly advocated for its independence. Now with cameron in a bit of a loner position within EU I don't think he is likely to challenge action currently taken by the EU in relation to Cyprus. So the TC's can expect to remain where they are for some years to come.

Talat said asked Christofias what kind of a solution he demanded by rejecting a calendar and mediator and said: “you didn’t solve with Talat, you didn’t solve with Eroglu, with whom are you going to solve?”

None of the above. The Cypriot owned talks (both sides) failed to resolve the problem. Politicians are not fit nor experts in this field mainly due to political costs or gains arising from the proposed solutions...

So how do we move forward? Assign the UN body of justice to take over in a binding arbitrary decision agreed in advance by both communities of CY

The International Court of Justice (French: Cours internationale de Justice; commonly referred to as the World Court or ICJ) is the primary judicial organ of the United Nations. It is based in the Peace Palace in The Hague, Netherlands. Its main functions are to settle legal disputes submitted to it by states and to provide advisory opinions on legal questions submitted to it by duly authorized international organs, agencies, and the UN General Assembly.

The Court shall address all chapters including land, property, security, Government, language etc.

I'll go along with that BUT the starting point should not be the constitution of the ROC as forced on the island by the Zurich Agreement. It should be based on the same principles that were applied to former colonies, the UN de-colonisation law and the Charter of Human Rights.

The Zurich agreement was a joke. The Guarantee powers fail to honor the agreement.

I agree with you. The ROC constitution should be re-written to accommodate the current situation and address the two communities fair and just.
We need a fresh start with an open mind in order to move forward. Events in the past are exactly what they are... past! I read tons of comments about what occured in the last 60 years but this does not help at all. In the contrary, it complicate things, it inflames the judgement.

The politicians had their chances to resolve but failed. The past 38 years is a solid proof of their incompetence - enough with these guys!

We need to clean house here. Demilitarizing of all forces stationed is a must, including the British SBAs. No more foreigh troops, just a mixed national guard of paid professional soldiers, just like the Canadian Army. No more mandatory enlistment, no need for it anyway. A fair land settlement with full compensation of displaced refugees at current land value.

One vote for every Cypriot citizen. "GC & TC" named citizens should be banned. Everyone is now a Cypriot subject, that's it. Mixed parliament with political parties comprised of MPs from both communities. No more 4 to 1 discrimination. No more "ghettos" in the island. Free movement & settlement as the rest of Europe. Mixed public service and benefits, free healthcare for all. Illegal immigration and settlers to be addressed one person at a time. Those who qualify can stay, the rest shall be deported.

The solution will come only when the Greek/Turk/Armenian/Jew etc origin is set aside. Canada is the perfect example of a multicultural society working and living together in harmony. This is achievable. The politicians must step back and allow this to happen.
